The Mamaš publishing house has been on the market since 2020; however, both of its founders – Jozef Hyrja and Alexandra Petrasová – have been active in the book industry for much longer.

We publish a broad selection of titles for various readers and have gained a solid reputation within a short period.

Our Bestselling Titles

  • Our bestselling title of 2023 was Postsedliaci (Post-Agrarians) by the Slovak cultural anthropologist Juraj Buzalka.
    • Awarded “Book of the Year 2023” by the Martinus bookstore chain.
    • Winner of the Panta Rhei bookstore Award for outstanding non-fiction book of the year.
  • Another notable success was Ivana Krekáňová with her publication Etymológia záhadná aj zábavná (Mysterious and Entertaining Etymology), a book exploring the origin of words.
